First, if you are taking your little one trick or treating this halloween make it your cardio workout. And by that, I do not mean drag the child running through the street! I mean as you walk, concentrate on keeping your abs in, butt firm, back straight and shoulders back. Take the time to breathe in the Fall air. (for those in you in New England anyways) There really is nothing like Autumn in New England. Feel the crackle of the leaves beneath your feet, and breathe in the distant wood stove filling the air with the scent of Fall. Evenings like this don’t last forever. Make this one worthwhile. Don’t rush, or worry about things, or be distracted. Concentrate only on the time you have and the moment you are in…..

From sexual predators to websites advocating anorexia to readily available bomb-making instructions, the Internet seems to be this big scary monster ready to gobble up our young. Where it always begins is at home and the relationship you have with your children, talking about such topics and making your children aware of the choices they have. The Internet and your Children can be a positive relationship!

Step parenting takes both, you and the biological parent. This relationship has to be solid unit. While it may take time to earn the respect of stepchildren, you nevertheless need the complete support of the biological parent. Your relationship will be on the display table and stepchildren take their cues from the strength of this relationship. If this relationship is weak and characterized by arguments, you the stepparent will be viewed as the weak link in this household. Not only do you and the real parent need to be a unified front, you also need to make your relationship a priority. Read more about Step Parenting: A Job for Two

From the first day the little bundle of joy is placed in our arms, we envision his/her future and realize this child is very dependent upon us to be a protecting and nurturing caregiver. As parents, we naturally want what is best for our child, and we want to do anything and everything we can to ensure our offspring has the best possible opportunities, and education, for a happy and productive life. As we look ahead, many parents may wonder: Is preschool really necessary?
